hc_bingo table: septicimia/infected wounds.
Content advisory: several of the images include disturbing/violent/sexual/disturbingly and violently sexual/graphic material.
Slight amount of explanation needed here. This icon set interprets infected wounds in a way that includes metaphorically "infected" psychological wounds, i.e. trauma that, instead of healing, turns into an even greater mess of hurt tainted by guilt, self-loathing, and other negative affects that have been left to fester. Silent Hill the town is itself basically infected by the pain of one little girl, Alessa Gillespie, who was almost burned alive by the cult that calls the town its home. In a way, the town itself is an infected wound on the face of the earth. In addition, the appearances of town's monsters are often influenced by the "infected" psychological wounds of the people who visit it. Finally, plenty of the monsters look like they have actual, literal infected injuries.
